Dear Parents/Carers,

Welcome back to the summer term – I hope you all had a lovely Easter break.

The table below gives you details of each class’ theme for this term. Knowing your child’s theme should help you talk to them about their work. Sometimes there is just one main theme for a term and sometimes two. The themes this term are:

Please remember that you can use the school website and our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) to link to fun educational activities for each year group – Discovery Espresso is an excellent online resource with curriculum content for all ages and is well worth looking at with your child. Please also check Seesaw regularly to see what has been happening in your child’s class. With the kind donations from parents and the PTA’s support we are able to upgrade our Seesaw membership and this will be put in place this term – benefits include whole school communication possibilities, transfer of your child’s folder and account to next year and increased functionality for teachers.

The better weather the summer term can bring allows us to make good use of our field, garden, forest school and school grounds and we look forward to getting outdoors more to support the children’s learning. On sunny days please apply suncream before school and children can bring in a cap or sun hat for playtime if they wish.

Whole School Photograph – we are pleased to let you know that the whole school photo we had taken for our 50th anniversary has arrived and looks great; with everyone looking in the right direction! These are available to buy and order forms will come home today. There is a copy of the photo in the school entrance. Photos need to be ordered by the morning of Tuesday 2nd May.

Country Dancers – please could anyone who hasn’t returned their skirt bring it back to school ASAP and give it to Mrs Chamberlain, thank you.

PPA Sport Lessons for Years 1 to 6 this term – Tuesday pm for Years 4 and 6 and Wednesday afternoon for Years 3 and 5 will be Gymnastics with Mr DeBorges (specialist Gym coach). Thursday pm for Years 1 and 2 will be cricket with Mr McDonald (lead coach at Junior Sports Stars). The classes will be participating in the other activity after the half term holiday. P.E. lessons led by the class teacher will be outdoors when the class are indoor for gym.

PTA Summer Fair – Saturday 20th May from 12 – 3pm – Please put the date in your diary and come along for a fun afternoon and to support the school. The raffle tickets will be coming home soon, we have some fantastic prizes all for 50p per ticket. Included in the tickets will be a sign up form to help at the fair - if you can help even for just half an hour please let us know. You are more than welcome to go on stall with your child, this gives them a great opportunity to learn about handling money. Thank you!
