December - Newsletter 10

Dear Parents/Carers,

PTA Christmas Fair

Thank you everyone for all of your help in making this year’s Christmas Fair so successful. We raised a fantastic £2333 (with an extra £200 from the children’s crafts) and couldn’t have done it without the great support we received from all of the parents, children, staff, local businesses and, of course, the PTA whose organisation and hard work really paid off – thank you to everyone who helped. It was a lovely afternoon and very well attended – thank you again!

Christmas Parties

Children’s Christmas parties are on the following dates:

Year 1 and 2 – Friday 16th December (AM)

Reception - Friday 16th December (PM)

Year 3 and 4 – Monday 19th December (AM)

Year 5 and 6 – Monday 19th December (PM)

Please can children bring in £1 this week to contribute to the cost of party food etc (in an envelope with their name and class on and labelled ‘Party Money’). Thank you.

Teachers will send home a note to their class about party clothes.

 Christmas Celebrations

Junior Christmas Carol Concert – Junior children should arrive at the church at 6:45pm on Thursday 15th

December – no earlier please, musicians should arrive at 6:30pm. The Carol Concert starts at 7pm and last approximately 45 minutes. Children should all wear school uniform.

The Infant children will be walking to the church to watch the Juniors rehearse on Thursday morning – please make sure that children have a warm coat to wear.

Infant Christmas Show: The Little Angel, Evening Performance (Tuesday 13th December) – Infant children

should arrive at school between 5:30-5:45pm (no earlier please). The show starts at 6:00pm and lasts approximately 40 minutes.

If your infant child normally goes to Junior Sports Stars and you would still like them to go on Tuesday then they will need picking up early in order to get organised. Junior Sports Stars will have a flexible early pick up on Tuesday from between 4:00-4:45pm for Infant children.

We have put some photos of our Christmas events so far on our website in the ‘Events and Projects’ section (or click on the ‘Christmas is coming...’ link from the homepage). We will also put some videos on the VLE in the ‘Podcasts and Videos’ section once the performances have taken place.

School Christmas Dinner – Thursday 15th December

It is our school Christmas Dinner on Thursday. Children who normally have a packed lunch but have ordered a dinner for this day obviously don’t need to bring in their packed lunch! All children can bring in a cracker to join in the celebrations.

 Mrs Love’s Mindset Meeting

Thank you to everyone who came and we really hope you found it useful. The feedback we’ve had was very positive and we will use your comments to help with further developments. One thing that parents wanted was access to the resources - all of the materials from the meeting and a few more are available on the VLE in the ‘Parents and Whole School’ section. Please have a look. (If you are asked to enrol when you click onto this section of the VLE then please say ‘yes’ – it will take you straight on after that.)

Last Day of Term – Tuesday 20th December

Children can bring in a toy to school to play with – please remind your child to take good care of their toy as it will be their responsibility to look after it.

 Christmas Post Box

Our Christmas Post Box is up until the end of term. Please can envelopes be addressed with the child’s name and class.

We break up for the Christmas Holidays after school on Tuesday 20th December and the children are due back in to start the Spring Term on Wednesday 4th January.

We aim to be approachable and work in partnership with parents, so if there is anything you wish to discuss, please do not hesitate to come and talk to us.

 Yours sincerely,
