December - Newsletter 11 (11th December 2012)


Dear Parents/Carers,


Children’s Christmas Parties – The Christmas Parties are on the following days:

  • Reception – the morning of Wednesday 19th December
  • Year 3 and 4 – the afternoon of Wednesday 19th December (change from previous calendar date)
  • Year 1 and 2 – the morning of Thursday 20th December (change from previous calendar date)
  • Year 5 and 6 - the afternoon of Thursday 20th December

Children can wear party clothes on the day of their party (but please make sure they have something warm to wear for playtimes). We will provide party nibbles and drinks for the children’s parties.

 

School Christmas Dinner on Tuesday 18th December – tomorrow morning is the last chance to order a school Christmas Dinner for your child if they normally have a packed lunch. It costs £1.95 and we need exact change please or a cheque payable to SMBC and put in an envelope marked with your child’s name and class and labelled ‘School Christmas Dinner’. Please remember if you’ve paid for a school Christmas Dinner then your child doesn’t need to bring their packed lunch to school next Tuesday. All children can bring a cracker next Tuesday to add to the festive spirit!

 

Clubs – these clubs are on this week and next week as normal: Helen O’Grady Drama, Junior Sports Stars Multi-sports and Junior sports Stars Football, Gymnastics, Characterz Acting Club, French Club, Taekwondo, Tennis Club.          This club is not on next week: Puzzle Club                                                                                     These clubs are not on this week or next week: Art and Craft Club, Country Dancing Club.

 

Infant Christmas Nativity, Christmas with the Aliens! – Tonight’s performance starting at 6pm: Just a reminder that Year 2 children should arrive at school at 5:30pm and we will get them ready in their costumes at school. Children in Reception and Year 1 have brought their costumes home and should arrive at school at 5:45pm in their costume. If no one is watching your child tonight, the performance lasts about 30 minutes so please pick up at 6:30pm. Thank you!

 

Junior Carol Concert – The Junior Carol concert starts at 7:00pm on Thursday 13th December. Children should arrive at the church in school uniform at 6:45pm. Thank you!

Junior children will be walking down to the church tomorrow (Wednesday) and Thursday for rehearsals in the morning and the Infant children will be walking down to watch the rehearsal on Thursday. All children should have a warm coat and sensible footwear to wear for walking down to the church.

 

We break up after school (3:15pm) on Friday 21st December and the children are due back in school on Tuesday 8th January 2013.

 

We aim to be approachable and work in partnership with parents, so if there is anything you wish to discuss, please do not hesitate to come and talk to us.
