September - Newsletter 3 (19th September 2012)

Dear Parents/Carers,

Harvest – Thursday 27th September at 10:10am

The Year 3 children are delivering our Harvest Assembly to their parents this year (I’m afraid that parents from other year groups won’t be able to watch due to space limitations).  All children throughout the school can bring in tins, packets of food etc. for our Harvest Assembly next week (from Monday until Thursday). We would very much appreciate your contributions which will go to The Wellspring Kitchen who support the homeless in Stockport.

VLE

All the children can now access the VLE with their username and password. Click on the class icon to see content and activities related to work in class. Have a look at all the other online educational resources too.

Lane End PTA

We’d love to see you at the PTA Coffee Morning in the Community Room on Wednesday 26th September between 9am and 10:30am. Come along for a chat and some tea, coffee and a delicious cake. We really hope that you can pop in. Another great opportunity to get together is at the PTA Quiz Night on Friday 19th October at 7:30pm. A letter will come home about this event next week.

Coats – please make sure your child has a waterproof coat in school each day in this wet and unpredictable weather – thank you!

Lockers – the children are enjoying using the new lockers. They are keeping the school much safer and smarter as there are no coats or bags to be tripped over or trodden on in the infant or junior corridors. We’ve also seen a noticeable reduction in lost property. When we asked in assembly, the children said that they liked not having to search around for their things which had been put on the wrong peg; their coats weren’t getting trodden on anymore which was much better; it was safer because you couldn’t trip over a coat and it was less crowded in the cloakrooms now too.

PTA Meeting – PTA AGM Wednesday 7th November 7:30pm – 8:30pm – everyone is welcome and we’d love to see you there.

We aim to be approachable and work in partnership with parents, so if there is anything you wish to discuss, please do not hesitate to come and talk to us.

Yours sincerely,
