Dear Parents/Carers,

PTA Trim Trail

The children have thoroughly enjoyed using the PTA trim trail over the last week.

We’ve formulated the following rules for our trim trail. Please help to enforce these rules if your child is using the trim trail after school – they are there for the safety of all of the children and to help ensure that everyone can enjoy using the trim trail.

Trim Trail Rules:

Keep fit, be kind, stay safe, have fun!

Remember:

No pushing or pulling

Don’t stand on top of the climbing wall

Don’t jump off the climbing wall (climb down)

No more than 3 children on the rock and roll log

Don’t over-crowd the other pieces of equipment

Hands only on the monkey bars (no dangling from your feet)!

The Trim Trail is not in use when it is raining or before school

Parental/carer supervision required after school

Refugee Crisis

A group of Lane End parents and carers are giving up their time to help with the current refugee crisis. A letter is coming home today from them explaining how we are working together to get the community involved in helping – please read it carefully and help if you can. The letter is inside a bag which you can use to send the crucial supplies requested back to school. It is great that we have a school community who want to help and are modelling this kindness to the children. I will also mention this to the children in assembly on Monday. Thank you in anticipation of your help.

Road Safety - It is fundamentally important that all parents/carers at Lane End drive and park safely and considerately when dropping off and picking up from school. It is unsafe to park on the zig-zag yellow lines, the keep clear sign, on any double-yellow lines, next to junctions/entrances, on the kerb or over the drives of the local residents. If you need to come by car the best thing to do is park further down the road and walk up. It is not acceptable that inconsiderate parking by a few parents risks the children’s safety – please make sure that everyone is following these simple rules. Unfortunately inconsiderate and unsafe parking is a feature around many Stockport schools and I am sending home a leaflet from Greater Manchester Police highlighting the need to park safely and considerately around schools. I am also working with a member of staff from Ramillies Hall School to try and get this message home to their parents/carers too.

School Gates - Please remember to use the pedestrian gate when dropping off in the morning and picking up after school rather than the visitor gate which goes through the car park.

We aim to be approachable and work in partnership with parents, so if there is anything you wish to discuss, please do not hesitate to come and talk to us.

Yours sincerely,
