Christmas is Coming...

The festive season is in full flow and the children have been enjoying some traditional Lane End Christmas fun and celebrations.

Christmas means the infant nativity and rehearsals in the hall:

Followed by the dress rehearsal for the junior children and then two shows for parents, carers and relatives:

The infants did a brilliant job - well done all!

The junior children have also been hard at work rehearsing for their Carol Concert at Cheadle Hulme Methodist Church which features Christmas songs and readings from each class, traditional carols with the congregation and music from our instrumentalists.

The Juniors performed very well for the infants...

... and they did really well in front of a packed church of parents, carers, friends and relatives on Thursday evening too.

Our choir have been out and about doing a fantastic job of representing the school. They sang at the Stockport School Choir Carol Festival at St George's Church and also at Cheadle Hulme Methodist Church's Community Carol Service. Thank you to Mrs Stutfield who runs the choir and well done to the children.

We were invited to watch the Rema Theatre Company perform 'Angels' Delight' at Cheadle Hulme Methodist Church - it told the Christmas story from the Angels' perspective and the children really enjoyed the show.

Lane End Christmas dinner is always a treat and it was no exception this year:

Christmas parties and the arrival of Father Christmas add a touch of magic to school life. Lessons have a Christmas twist too as there's always some Christmas crafts to make or some Christmas maths to challenge you:

We are really enjoying the run up to Christmas and the children are getting a great deal out of the celebrations.
