December - Newsletter 11 (12th December 2013)

Dear Parents/Carers,

Well done to the infants who did a great job with their Christmas production of ‘Prickly Hay’. I will put some photos on our website in the ‘Busy Autumn Term 2013’ section of the ‘School Events’ part of the website – you’ll have to scroll down as there are a lot of photos on there!

We are looking forward to our Junior Carol Concert next Thursday at Cheadle Hulme Methodist Church. It starts at 7pm and children should arrive in their school uniform no earlier than 6:45pm. The Juniors will be rehearsing at the Church next Monday, Wednesday and Thursday so will need a warm coat and appropriate footwear to walk down in. Infant children will be watching the rehearsal on Thursday morning so will need the same.

We also have the Christmas parties next week. There are a couple of slight changes from the timetable previously shown on the school calendar so please take a note of the dates below:

Reception / Class 1 / Class 2 – Wednesday morning

Year 5 / Year 6 – Wednesday afternoon

Year 3 / Year 4 – Friday morning

Children in Reception and Years 1, 2, 3 and 4 should wear their party clothes to school on their party day and can then wear them during the day. Children in Years 5 and 6 should come to school in uniform and bring their party clothes in a bag (Year 5 and 6 are rehearsing at the church in the morning). Please make sure party clothes are also warm enough for outside play.

Please could children bring in a £1 donation for the Christmas party food before their party next week in a named envelope – thank you!

Clubs next week – the following clubs are running next week:  French club, Junior Sports Stars clubs, gymnastics, theatre club, mini-tennis. Other clubs are not running next week. A letter will come home during the first week back after the holidays detailing clubs for next term. Clubs will start in the second week of the term.

No dogs on the playground please – please can I just remind everyone that there should be no dogs on the playground. If you are tying a lead to the fence outside of school please do this closer to the end of the road and well away from the gates and where people are walking.

We finish after school on Friday 20th December and the children are due back in on Tuesday 7th January as the Monday is an INSET day.

We aim to be approachable and work in partnership with parents, so if there is anything you wish to discuss, please do not hesitate to come and talk to us.

Yours sincerely,

James Twigg
