July - Newsletter 27 (July 27th 2016)

Dear Parents/Carers,

Thank you for all of your support this year – it is greatly appreciated. We’ve had a lovely last week and the Year 6 did a wonderful leavers’ assembly this morning – well done all!

There are some great photos from the term on our website. There is currently a link to these at the bottom of the home page and the links to school events are always available in the ‘school events’ section of the website which can be found if you click on the ‘Our School’ tab. Photos include: both sports days, the fantastic junior production of ‘Wind in the Willows’, our slow bike race, sponsored jog, the baton relay and more. It’s been a great term and the photos show some of the whole school highlights. CLICK HERE

Just a few reminders:

Parent Pay details have been sent home – lots of parents/carers have already logged in and set up their account. If you haven’t already done so please do this over the holidays so you are ready to go in September – thank you.

Please remember that children need our new P.E. kit in September. Children should have: Blue shorts and a blue Lane End P.E. T-shirt, pumps/trainers, a plain blue sweatshirt or blue tracksuit top and blue jogging trousers for outdoor P.E.

The Lane End P.E. T-shirt is the main addition – it is royal blue with the school logo (as on the school jumper). These are available from Zenith Children’s Wear for the very reasonable price of £4.15 – they can also be ordered from Davensports (£7 - £7.50 size dependent) and Monkhouses (£5.75). You can order school uniform/P.E. kit online over the holidays from Zenith and it will be ready for collection on Thursday 1st September between 10am and 1pm at school.

Sponsor Money for Sports Relief – all of the children have done their sponsored jog now and they all did a great job – many children running more than the three laps of the field required. Thank you to everyone who has already returned sponsor money – please can any remaining money be sent into school tomorrow (Thursday) so we can get it all to Sport Relief. So far we have raised a fantastic £841.95 – thank you!

Books – most of the children’s work will come home, however we are keeping any unfinished English and Maths books for use next year. We also keep 6 children’s work per class for monitoring.

Toy Day - Children can bring a toy tomorrow – they are responsible for their own toy/game. Electronic devices must only have age appropriate games on them.   Mobile phones don’t count as toys!

Have a lovely summer everyone!

We break up after school on Thursday 28th July and the children are back in school on Monday 5th September.

Yours sincerely,
