May - Newsletter 25 (15th May 2013)

Dear Parents/Carers,

PTA Summer Fairwe really hope that you are planning to come to the fair this Saturday (18th May) from 12 – 3pm. It’s always a fun family event and raises much needed money for school projects. Thank you to everyone who has sold raffle tickets – please return all remaining money and any unsold tickets to school by the end of the week. Thank you also for your support for our non-uniform days, the children have brought it some great items. It is our last non-uniform day this Friday – please can children bring in cakes or chocolate. We are also linking this with a local non-uniform day for ‘Millie’s Trust’ – Millie’s Trust supports and promotes Paediatric First Aid awareness and any donations will be gratefully received.

Thank you to everyone who has volunteered to help at the fair – help is still needed, particularly to help on stalls during the fair, so please sign up if you can. We’re setting up from 2pm on Friday afternoon if you are available to help then and from 9:30am on Saturday morning.

Attendance – we are proud of our excellent attendance at Lane End and I’m pleased to say that we have 100% of the children in school today (or on the Year 5 Scarborough Residential!) – well done all.

Tiny Toes on Mellor Road in Cheadle Hulme have decided to go ahead with the before and after school care from September – please contact them on 4884242 for more details.

Football kits – After a great season, please could any kits be washed and returned to school ASAP – thank you.

Sports Days –Weather permitting, the Junior Sports Day will be held in the morning on Monday 24th June and the Infants on Monday 1st July (please note the change of date for the Infant Sports Day).

Please remember that we break up for the half term holiday after school on Friday 24th May and the children are back in school on Tuesday 11th June (as we have an INSET day on the Monday).

We aim to be approachable and work in partnership with parents, so if there is anything you wish to discuss, please do not hesitate to come and talk to us.

 Yours sincerely,

James Twigg
